The so called “Monferrato” is the hill region on the south side of the “Po” river, among the “Alessandria” and “Asti” districts. It develops to the “Cuneo” district becoming the so called “Langhe” and “Roero” hills, lands of noble and distinguished agri-cultural traditions.
Its peaks reach the 500-700 m asl and have the same geological origins than the Alps: they raised from the sea bed some ten millions of years ago, as confirmed by the marine fossils you can find in the countryside even today.
Ariotto is a hotel village set up with landlord's villa completely renovated and with some houses of recent costruction, built on the side of the hill descending from the village centre. The material used for building and for restoration have permitted the structure to be insered in the village's style and local architecture.
